The incident occurred on August 30 at a premises in a shopping complex in Marratxí. According to the Civil Guard, a woman left the store without paying for several perfumes and, after being caught, an employee followed her to the car park to try to prevent her escape.
DRAGGED SEVERAL METRES ALONG THE ASPHALT
A vehicle driven by the man now under arrest was waiting in the car park. During the struggle, as the employee tried to prevent the woman from fleeing, the driver started the car and dragged the worker several metres along the asphalt, leaving her injured on the ground. The escape was captured on camera.
The occupants then continued driving at high speed. A witness who had seen what happened tried to stop them but, according to the Civil Guard, had to move aside to avoid being run over by the vehicle.
THE DRIVER REMANDED IN CUSTODY
The Pont d'Inca Civil Guard Investigation Unit began inquiries to identify and locate those involved. The investigation ended with the driver's arrest as the alleged perpetrator of robbery with violence and intimidation and offenses against road safety. After appearing before a judge, he was remanded in custody.
The woman who allegedly stole the perfumes has also been fully identified, and the Civil Guard expects to arrest her in the coming days. Investigators attribute two robberies involving violence and intimidation to her, as she is also allegedly linked to another incident committed last July at a business in the same shopping complex.
