Those close to her announced her death through the tarot reader’s own social media accounts. “Conchita has left us today,” the message began, with her loved ones remembering her as someone with a “special light” and highlighting the mark she left on those who knew her. The cause of death has not been made public.
Hurtado’s funeral took place this Thursday at La Almudena Cemetery in Madrid.

Conchita Hurtado’s television career also offers a glimpse into much of the evolution of entertainment in Spain. She rose to prominence in the early 1990s thanks to De tú a tú, the Antena 3 program hosted by Nieves Herrero. From then on, she became a regular presence on magazine shows and eventually earned the label of “the celebrities’ psychic.”
Other programs that defined different eras of television followed, including Sorpresa, sorpresa, with Isabel Gemio, and Sabor a ti, with Ana Rosa Quintana. Decades later, she found a new platform on Telecinco, appearing on Sálvame and Sábado Deluxe, where she made predictions about celebrities, competitions and some of the network’s most popular reality shows.
Hurtado also had her own program, La línea de la vida, devoted to tarot and live consultations. Her work extended beyond television studios: she wrote horoscopes for magazines such as TP and Diez Minutos and published books related to astrology and personal growth.
