Itesal will continue to be represented by its managing director, Armando Mateos, who has extensive experience within the association and served as its president between 2017 and 2024. His tenure was marked by initiatives aimed at raising the visibility of aluminium, promoting its applications and highlighting its contribution to industrial development and the transition towards a more sustainable economy.

Mateos expressed his satisfaction at “once again receiving the confidence of the member companies”, but also acknowledged that “it is a responsibility that we take on with enthusiasm and commitment. At Itesal, we firmly believe in the importance of working together to defend the interests of our industry and address the challenges ahead”.

Similarly, Itesal’s managing director highlighted the importance aluminium will have in the coming years: “It is a key material for moving towards a circular economy, improving energy efficiency and developing more sustainable solutions in construction and industry. Our aim is to continue raising awareness of its advantages among public authorities, professionals and society, while also helping to improve the competitiveness of companies in the sector”.

A TRACK RECORD OF COMMITMENT TO THE ALUMINIUM SECTOR

Itesal’s renewal on the AEA Board also recognises its continued involvement in the association and the work carried out by Armando Mateos during his time as president.

From 2017 to 2024, the association promoted various initiatives aimed at strengthening aluminium’s position as a benchmark material in areas such as construction, industry, energy efficiency and the circular economy, while also strengthening dialogue between the sector, public authorities and other strategic stakeholders.

Since 2024, the AEA has been chaired by Felipe Quintá, with whom Itesal will continue working from the Board to advance the shared objectives of its member companies.
