The Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose 0.5% compared with September 2025, according to data released Friday by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE). Aragon’s growth was two percentage points below the national increase of 2.5%.
THE YEAR-TO-DATE BALANCE REMAINS NEGATIVE
Between January and September, industrial production in Aragon fell 0.3% compared with the same period in 2025. In Spain, by contrast, it rose 1.5%.
Aragon was among the twelve autonomous communities where production increased in September. Madrid recorded the biggest rise, at 8.6%, followed by Murcia and Andalusia. Five other regions registered declines, led by Navarre, where production fell 5.5%.
CAPITAL GOODS DRIVE THE INCREASE
By product type, capital goods stood out in Aragon with growth of 5.7%. Consumer goods advanced 0.6%: non-durable goods rose 1.4%, while durable goods fell 1.7%.
Energy recorded the weakest performance, with an 8.2% decline, while intermediate goods fell 0.3%. These decreases contrasted with the boost from capital goods and limited the region’s industrial growth.
