Buying a home in the region is 14.6% more expensive than a year ago, according to the Housing Price Index (IPV) for the second quarter of 2026 published by the National Statistics Institute (INE). The increase in Aragón is well above the 12.2% average recorded across Spain.
Although prices continue to rise sharply, the pace has moderated compared with the beginning of the year. In the first quarter, Aragón had led price increases across Spain alongside Murcia, with a rise of 15.6%, meaning the year-on-year rate has now fallen by one percentage point. Even so, the region remains among the areas where housing is becoming more expensive.
ARAGÓN AMONG SPAIN'S BIGGEST INCREASES
Among the autonomous communities, only Asturias, with a 15% increase, and Castilla y León, with 14.8%, recorded higher rises than Aragón. Including the autonomous cities, Ceuta tops the ranking with 15.2%. Just behind Aragón are La Rioja and Murcia, both with increases of 14.4%.
The difference from the Spanish average is considerable: home prices in Aragón have risen 2.4 percentage points more than in the country as a whole. All autonomous communities and cities recorded year-on-year increases, although the most moderate were registered in Navarre, at 9.5%; the Basque Country, at 10%; and Catalonia, at 10.1%.
USED HOMES DRIVE PRICE INCREASES IN SPAIN
Across Spain, second-hand homes once again recorded the biggest price increase, rising 12.9% year on year, while new homes increased by 7.4%. Compared with the first quarter of this year, home prices rose by an average of 3.4%, with an increase of 3.7% for used homes and 1% for new properties.
