The rally will begin at 8:00 p.m. in Plaza del Pilar, outside Zaragoza City Hall, as part of events being held at Spanish town halls at the initiative of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
ECOS especially wanted to express its support for Ceuta’s commercial sector, as well as for the business owners and workers dealing with the consequences of this situation, while also showing its solidarity with the people of Ceuta as a whole.
ECOS Secretary-General Vicente Gracia said the federation wanted to attend the event to publicly show its support for the autonomous city: “At ECOS, we want to convey our full solidarity with and support for Ceuta’s traders and, of course, the people of Ceuta as a whole in the face of the difficult situation they are experiencing. Trade is an essential part of the economic and social life of our cities and, at times like this, we believe it is important to stand together and show our support for those going through an especially difficult situation.”
ECOS will thus take part in this afternoon’s rally in Plaza del Pilar, joining the institutional call and showing Zaragoza’s commercial sector’s support for the traders and citizens of Ceuta.
