Aragón to allocate €97 million to Economy in 2027 budget, including €17.5 million for DAT Alierta

Although it is not yet known when Aragón’s 2027 budget will reach the regional parliament, some figures are already being disclosed. After announcing allocations for Education, Healthcare, Housing and Social Services, Aragón President Jorge Azcón said Monday during a visit to the ITA that €97 million in regional funds would be allocated to the Department of Economy, Competitiveness and Employment.

To this amount, the president explained, must be added the budgets of the Aragon Institute of Technology (ITA), Inaem, the Aragon Development Institute (IAF) and other bodies in the sector, which will be detailed shortly. “Aragón wants to progress and continue improving everyone’s well-being. This is key for us because the functioning of the economy is what determines a budget,” said the head of the regional government.

Among the main initiatives planned for the next financial year is the development of the Aragonese Alierta Technology District (DAT Alierta), which will receive €17.5 million to launch various projects. The future headquarters of Circe and the technology company building are among these projects, along with a €5 million allocation for the expansion of the ITA, construction of which began last week.

Azcón stressed that the funds allocated to DAT Alierta will allow the project to move “from paper to reality in record time.” In this regard, some construction work on this new “strategic” technology district, which will extend beyond the current “legislature,” will begin throughout 2027. “It is one of the essential pillars of the Aragón of the future that we want to build,” the Aragonese president emphasized.

Beyond DAT Alierta, the Government of Aragón will promote a digitalization plan for small and medium-sized enterprises aimed at improving their competitiveness and ensuring that the growth associated with the arrival of major companies also impacts Aragón’s business community. “It is not only about attracting major investments to Aragón, but also about ensuring that our small and medium-sized companies understand that technological transformation is key to the future,” Azcón said.
