In an open letter addressed to the regional minister, AEGA accuses the Administration of accumulating delays, unfulfilled commitments and a lack of dialogue. Among its main complaints, the organization points to rising production costs, particularly the price of agricultural diesel and fertilizers, and denounces the fact that farm-gate prices do not cover expenses at many farms.
AEGA THREATENS TO TAKE TO THE STREETS AGAIN
The organization also warns about the situation in the livestock sector and the lack of generational renewal. It says many professionals are taking on debt to modernize facilities while remaining exposed to possible health crises, as young people face increasing difficulties entering the sector or taking over family farms.
AEGA is calling for a faster and more effective response from the Department and rejects the idea that dialogue should be limited to “formalities and empty roundtables.” The organization warns that it will maintain pressure if its demands are not addressed and says that, if “silence and endless deadlines” continue, it will resume protests on streets and roads to defend the viability of Aragon’s farming sector.
