The municipal official questioned Beltrán's statements, in which he claimed that "the governments of Jorge Azcón and Natalia Chueca have missed the opportunity to transform the city's transport system with European funds." The city council responded by stating that "the Spanish Government owes the city of Zaragoza €11 million in transport aid for 2025" and a further €22 million that "should have been paid before December" and have been extended until next year.
Gaudes warned that delays in the aid payments had forced local councils to advance, using their own resources, the money allocated to public transport discounts. "The PSOE and the Spanish Government are dedicated to imposing low-emission zones on local councils without consensus and financially suffocating us," said the Environment and Mobility councillor, who also criticised Beltrán for "opposing the people of Zaragoza."
Gaudes urged the Socialist candidate to demand directly from the Spanish Government that the outstanding amounts be paid. "Stop focusing on Zaragoza City Council and focus right now on the Spanish Government," she insisted.
