Apparently, the airline operated the flight with a smaller aircraft than planned, leaving a significant number of passengers unable to board. According to those affected, Wizz Air was looking for alternatives to ensure that those left behind could reach the Italian capital as planned.
Among the fortunate passengers who were able to board were four friends traveling together to Rome to spend a few days and explore the city. “We arrived at the airport at around 7:00 a.m. and checked in at the counter because it couldn’t be done through the app,” said Cristina, one of the friends.
In fact, the young women did not notice the “overbooking” until they were already on the tarmac and about to board, when one of the passengers behind them mentioned that he was “afraid” of being left behind. “We had no idea and just carried on as normal,” they said.
The four friends do not know why “luck” was on their side this time. “I don’t know whether it’s because we arrived earlier than we needed to or because those passengers arrived later,” one of them explained. Whatever the reason, Cristina, Paula, Miriam and Marina were able to board and will arrive in the Roman city in a few hours.
