Aena continues to list Volotea among the airlines operating at Zaragoza Airport, with Menorca as a destination. Entering pre-insolvency proceedings does not in itself mean the company will cease operations or suspend its flights.
FACUA ADVISES AGAINST BUYING TICKETS
Although operations continue normally, FACUA-Consumers in Action is advising users not to purchase new Volotea tickets for the time being until the airline's financial situation becomes clearer.
The association believes consumers should avoid taking the risk of paying in advance for flights that could be affected if the company's situation worsens.
RIGHTS IN THE EVENT OF A CANCELLATION
FACUA reminds passengers that Volotea remains obliged to honor its commitments to customers. If any of its flights are canceled, passengers will be able to claim the rights granted to them under current regulations.
The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) states that, in the event of a cancellation, the airline must offer passengers the choice between a ticket refund or alternative transportation, as well as provide the assistance applicable in each case.
KEEP ALL DOCUMENTATION
FACUA recommends that people who already have Volotea tickets keep all documentation related to the purchase, including bookings, invoices, proof of payment and emails, so they can file a claim if cancellations or an interruption of operations occur.
MORE GUARANTEES
The association is also calling on the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 to introduce regulatory changes so that certain companies charging for services in advance have insurance or financial guarantees to protect consumers in the event of a possible closure.
