Bodegas San Valero has presented a new edition of its gastronomic initiative, which throughout October will bring different offerings to restaurants, butcher shops and food stores across Aragón. This year, the festival features four gastronomic categories under the concept "The perfect match," celebrating the combination of meat and limited-edition 8.0.1 wine.
Four gastronomic categories have been added for restaurants in this edition
FOUR CATEGORIES AND MANY WAYS TO ENJOY MEAT
One of the main new features of this edition is the addition of four gastronomic categories for restaurants. The formula expands the festival’s possibilities and showcases the different ways to enjoy meat alongside a glass of 8.0.1.
Participating establishments have unveiled their offerings in the categories Classic Cut, for steak, tomahawk and other large cuts; Spoon, for rice dishes, stews and casseroles; Street Food, featuring creations such as burgers, tacos, croquettes, pepitos and baos; and Creative Fusion, dedicated to offerings such as tataki, steak tartare, carpaccios and other more innovative interpretations.
The presentation brought these four categories directly into the kitchens, with four establishments preparing live samples of the offerings that will be available during Steak Month.
This year, the festival proposes the combination of meat and limited-edition 8.0.1 wine
José, from Restaurante Birolla, represented the Classic Cut category by preparing his Bazkaleku Selección Especial steak, from the Jiménez Barbero farm, dry-aged for 75 days; Rubén Marqueta, from Restaurante Casa Lizio, prepared his steak rice dish as an offering in the Spoon category; Ana, from Restaurante El Candelas, created a grilled steak burger for Street Food with Patamulo cheese, portobello mushrooms sautéed in 8.0.1 wine, pickled bimi and baby carrot; and Sergio, from Restaurante La Klandestina, presented his steak tartare as part of Creative Fusion.
These four very different offerings showcase the variety of creations that will be available throughout October and the pairing possibilities offered by limited-edition 8.0.1.
Restaurants are once again joined by butcher shops, which play a prominent role in the initiative. During the presentation, Carnicería Hermanos Pueyo took part on behalf of the sector, bringing the perspective of those who work with the product every day and are a fundamental part of Steak Month.
Promotional activities and prize draws at food stores are also continuing, bringing the initiative to those who want to enjoy the "perfect match" at home.
RECOGNITION FOR TWO CAREERS
The presentation of this fourth edition also featured a particularly moving moment. Bodegas San Valero took the opportunity to pay tribute to Jesús Zamora, coinciding with his retirement and recognizing his professional career and his many years connected to current affairs and sport in Aragón.
The event also recognized the career of Restaurante La Junquera, which is set to reopen its doors soon after a fire at its premises. It was a tribute to an establishment with a long history in Aragonese cuisine as it now embarks on a new chapter.
The two tributes added a human element to the presentation, which is also part of the philosophy behind Steak Month: celebrating Aragonese cuisine through the people who tell its story, work with it and keep it alive.
FROM OCTOBER 1 TO 31 ACROSS ARAGÓN
The presentation officially marks the start of the fourth edition of Steak Month. From October 1 through 31, participating establishments will offer their different gastronomic creations linked to the festival and Bodegas San Valero’s limited-edition 8.0.1 wine.
"Steak Month continues to grow because the ways of enjoying gastronomy are also expanding. Reaching 90 participating establishments demonstrates the strong reception of an initiative that this year we want to continue opening up to very different kitchens and offerings thanks to the four categories. We are preserving what has been at the heart of the festival since its first edition: enjoying an outstanding product and a wine that works especially well with meat, creating experiences and highlighting Aragón’s gastronomy," explained Javier Domeque, Marketing Manager at Bodegas San Valero.
The full list of participating restaurants and butcher shops, along with their gastronomic offerings, can be viewed at sanvalero.com throughout the festival.
Steak Month was launched by Bodegas San Valero with the aim of boosting the gastronomy sector, highlighting the value of the product and bringing wine culture to new audiences. Four editions later, the initiative continues to evolve and expand its presence across Aragón, keeping the pairing of meat and 8.0.1 at its heart.
