Among the proposals put forward is extending bus Route 21 to Santa Isabel using articulated buses, along with additional services for Route 60. However, the idea has sparked divided opinions. While some residents support expanding connections, others believe Route 21 would overlap with Route 32 and are calling for Route 45 to return, as it offered a different way to cross the Ebro.
The main focus of the complaints is the capacity of Routes 32 and 60 to meet daily demand. "We feel abandoned as a neighborhood. Route 32 is terrible and Route 60 is hardly useful," one resident said, proposing a petition to demand changes. Other residents argue that more buses and higher frequencies are needed, especially to reduce waiting times and improve journeys to the center of the Aragonese capital.
IMPROVEMENTS TO FREQUENCIES AND ROUTES
Opinions, however, vary. One Santa Isabel resident disagrees with the proposal to bring Route 21 to the neighborhood and instead supports reinforcing the current service. Specifically, she has suggested that Route 32 operate every seven minutes, compared with the 10-minute frequency she says is recorded during the best time slots, as well as improving connections on weekends and at night. In her view, diverting Route 21 would harm residents in the newer part of the Jesús neighborhood, where it is the only route providing service, and would duplicate much of Route 32’s itinerary. She also proposes that buses on Routes 32 and 60 operate in a more staggered manner, as she claims they often run at the same time.
Other alternatives proposed by users include restoring Route 45, modifying itineraries or creating a fast shuttle with few stops to reduce travel times. The complaints also cover issues of civic behavior inside the vehicles. One resident has asked passengers using the bus to move toward the rear to make use of available seats and allow those waiting at the next stops to board. The various proposals reflect dissatisfaction among part of the neighborhood and a demand for more effective connections with the rest of Zaragoza.
