The project will address the currently poor condition of the finishes at this point on the road and improve pedestrian travel conditions. Among other measures, it includes resurfacing, improved lighting and the general adaptation of the space to facilitate movement and remove barriers.
The contracting process was formally launched this September through an order paving the way for the administrative processing of the works. The project will be financed from the current municipal budget, under the allocation for road renovation projects.
IMPROVED ACCESSIBILITY AND SAFETY
Victor Serrano, the councillor for Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Energy and Housing, highlighted that the intervention aims to "modernize our streets, remove barriers and make Zaragoza a much more accessible and pedestrian-friendly city". He also explained that the project will address the needs identified at this point in Santa Isabel and improve its urban surroundings.
The contract will be awarded through an open procedure based on the best value-for-money criteria. The file will be transferred to the New Road Projects Service, which will continue the process and prepare the technical and administrative specifications needed to move the works forward.
