Puente de Piedra bridge to close for a day: These are the affected bus routes

Zaragoza City Council is continuing structural and topographical analysis work on the Puente de Piedra. The ambitious Bridge Plan will begin next Wednesday, September 30, requiring the complete closure of the bridge and some nearby areas to road and pedestrian traffic from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for safety reasons related to the drone flights that will be carried out.

The work, carried out במסגרת the city's Bridge Plan, forms part of the technical assistance for drafting the comprehensive rehabilitation proposal for the Puente de Piedra, which was awarded to Bigantec Consultoría for a budget of 40,197.41 euros, VAT included", recalled the councilor for Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Energy and Housing, Víctor Serrano.

PERIMETER SECURITY DURING THE FLIGHTS

To carry out these analysis flights with full guarantees, it is necessary to create a safety area free of people not involved in the operation. For this reason, on Wednesday, September 30, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and limited to the effective flight periods, the bridge will be completely closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The safety perimeter requires effective demarcation through fencing, warning markers and access control in the adjacent areas of the Paseo de Echegaray y Caballero, the Paseo de la Ribera and the banks of the Ebro River beneath the structure. The City Council has scheduled this work before the Fiestas del Pilar, since decorative elements and stalls are installed on the bridge during the celebrations, which would prevent the proper collection of LiDAR data.

AFFECTED BUS ROUTES

Regarding urban bus services, during those hours, routes 28, 32, 35, 36 and 39 will be diverted to cross the river via the Santiago Bridge or the Iron Bridge.
