Pilar Festivities force diversions on ten bus lines in central Zaragoza: closures and routes

The 2026 Pilar Festivities will require traffic and several bus routes to be modified in central Zaragoza for ten days. Paseo de la Independencia, Don Jaime and the Stone Bridge will be closed from 6 p.m. this Friday, October 9, until 4:30 a.m. on Monday, October 19, resulting in numerous diversions.

The disruptions will affect lines 28, 29, 32, 35, 36, 39 and Ci3, as well as the N1, N2 and N7 night services. Alternative routes will depend on each line and, in some cases, on possible closures along Paseo Echegaray y Caballero during the festivities.

DIVERSIONS FOR LINES 28, 29, 32, 35, 36 AND 39

Line 28, toward Coso, will run from avenida Cataluña/Balcón de San Lázaro via paseo de la Ribera, Arquitecto La Figuera, avenida Pirineos, Puente de Santiago and Echegaray y Caballero. If the latter avenue is also closed, its terminal toward Peñaflor will be located at avenida Cataluña/Balcón de San Lázaro.

Line 29 will likewise modify its route if Echegaray y Caballero is closed. Toward Camino de las Torres, it will be diverted from Salvador Allende via Valle de Broto, plaza Mozart, avenida Cataluña, Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar, Alonso V and Asalto to Miguel Servet. Toward San Gregorio, it will run from Glorieta del Sol via Puente del Pilar, paseo de la Ribera and Arquitecto La Figuera.

Lines 32, 35, 36 and 39 will also change. Line 32, toward Bombarda, will run via Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar, Alonso V, Asalto, Mina and Constitución; line 35 will follow a similar route from Sobrarbe; line 36 will head toward Valdefierro via paseo de la Ribera, avenida Pirineos, José Atarés and Puente de la Almozara; and line 39 will be diverted toward Pinares de Venecia via Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar and Asalto.

CHANGES TO CI3 AND THE N1, N2 AND N7 NIGHT BUSES

Ci3 will also modify its route if Paseo Echegaray y Caballero is closed. Toward Echegaray, it will run via Puente de Santiago, avenida Pirineos, Valle de Broto, plaza Mozart, avenida Cataluña, Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar and Puente del Pilar before rejoining its route.

The N1, N2 and N7 night buses will also be affected. The N1 and N7, toward plaza Aragón, will be diverted from avenida Cataluña via Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar, Puente del Pilar, Alonso V, Asalto, Mina and Constitución. The N2 will follow a similar route, although it will start from Sobrarbe and continue via Valle de Zuriza.

TEMPORARY STOPS PUT INTO SERVICE

Several temporary stops will be introduced because of these diversions to maintain service in areas affected by the closures. Buses will stop at paseo de la Mina/Balmes, paseo de la Constitución 33, paseo de la Constitución 11, Muel, avenida Puente del Pilar/Puente de Hierro, Valle de Zuriza/Centro Cívico and Arquitecto La Figuera.
