New cycling feature in Zaragoza: how the exclusive speed bump for bikes and e-scooters works

The area around Inmaculada Concepción School has had a new feature for several days. Zaragoza City Council has installed a speed bump designed to slow cyclists near schools or in areas where reducing speed is considered necessary. The raised section is located within the bike lane on Camino Las Torres and spans just a few meters. It has been strategically placed in front of the school entrance to prevent accidents given the number of children who pass through the area.

According to municipal sources, the city council's aim is to determine whether it works properly so that, if it proves to be a good solution, more will be installed in other areas of the Aragonese capital.

The proposal is to install them at points across the city where cyclists' speed needs to be reduced, with schools expected to be the main beneficiaries of the measure.
