Neither Zity nor Valdespartera: This Was the Busiest Spot at the 2026 Pilar Festivities

Valdespartera’s fairgrounds, concerts and events across the city once again drew large crowds during the Pilar Festivities, but one venue clearly stood out. Plaza del Pilar saw the most activity of the 2026 celebrations, recording more than 2.6 million entries during the holiday period.

The visitor-counting systems installed at its entrances recorded 2,647,500 entries, equivalent to a total of 5,113,324 movements detected during the period analyzed. These figures do not represent 2.6 million different people, as the sensors count incoming and outgoing movements, and the same person may pass through the entrances several times.

During the festivities, the square hosted some of the events with the greatest drawing power, from the main traditional celebrations to major concerts. Among them was the Flower Offering, which brought together 134,116 participants and 410,414 spectators this year, reaching 544,530 attendance records among participants and the public.

The busiest moment of the entire program came precisely on October 12, Pilar Day. That day alone saw 743,861 attendances across the different activities. In addition, more than 1.5 million attendances were recorded across the city on October 10, 11 and 12.

The traditional events attracted a combined 984,957 people, including the Opening Address, the Flower Offering, the Fruit Offering, the Crystal Rosary and other popular celebrations. The Fruit Offering had 3,700 participants and 116,000 spectators, while the Crystal Rosary recorded 8,827 participants and 55,000 members of the public.

Music also brought thousands of people to this central Zaragoza location. Concerts at the Escenario Ambar Fuente de Goya, set up in the square itself, recorded 158,800 spectators over the course of the festivities.

ZITY AND VALDESPARTERA AMONG THE BIGGEST CROWDS

Outside the city center, the major venues also once again attracted significant numbers. The Valdespartera Fairgrounds recorded 494,400 attendances, while Espacio Zity drew another 219,000 people. Together, the major venues and concerts totaled 901,719 attendances.

Other venues also saw high participation, including the Food Trucks at San Pablo Park, with 224,040 attendances; the Food and Agricultural Crafts Fair in Plaza de los Sitios, with 105,600; and the Autumn Market in Plaza Aragón, which made its debut with 62,000.

All of this came during the 2026 Pilar Festivities, which are already nearing three million attendances. The provisional total stands at 2,918,700 for the scheduled activities, 8.63% more than at the same point in 2025 and even above last year’s final figure, despite this edition having one fewer day of programming.
