The incidents were not limited to this committee. Failures in the municipal systems also affected the Procurement Committees, on a day marked by technological problems that made it difficult to access documentation and applications routinely used by municipal services.
The IT problems were not new, as the Zaragoza branch of the PSOE pointed out that incidents had already been recorded in municipal systems during August and had occurred again this week. The Socialists warned that these outages could particularly affect district councils and public service offices, where citizens carry out procedures, submit documents or request information.
For this reason, Socialist councilor Ana Becerril called on the municipal government to establish an action protocol allowing users to continue receiving assistance when applications fail and preventing them from having to return another day. “Digitalization cannot mean that when the digital tool fails, public service also fails,” she argued. The PSOE is therefore calling for an urgent plan that takes into account what other cities are already doing through planning and greater cybersecurity.
