How to Get a Free Taco This Tuesday in Zaragoza: Taco Bell’s Simple Challenge

Tacos are one of the great stars of street food, with tortillas that can hold almost anything. This Tuesday, October 6, International Taco Day, Taco Bell will celebrate in Zaragoza by handing out free tacos at its restaurants across the city.

The initiative is part of a collaboration between Taco Bell and Duolingo and plays precisely with languages. Getting a free taco comes with one very simple condition: customers must visit one of the participating restaurants with a flag from any country and say the word "taco" in that country’s language. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free taco, while supplies last. The campaign stems from a curious fact: the word "taco" remains virtually unchanged in more than 30 languages.

The collaboration also comes with a new offering for spicy-food fans: Salsa Duo Habanero, created exclusively for Taco Bell and Duolingo. It is a limited-edition sauce with an intense, tangy flavor, fruity notes and the distinctive heat of habanero peppers. In Spain, it will be available free with every Crunchy Taco Supreme, while supplies last, and will be served in special containers featuring taco-related messages in three languages.

People in Zaragoza who want to take part in this unique celebration can do so this Tuesday, October 6, at the three Taco Bell locations designated by the company in the city: Taco Bell Alfonso I, Taco Bell at Gran Casa shopping center and Taco Bell at Puerto Venecia shopping center.

Zaragoza will be just one of the cities taking part in the celebration. The initiative is taking place at participating Taco Bell restaurants across Spain, where the chain has celebrated International Taco Day since 2017. This 2026 marks the campaign’s 10th edition, following last year’s distribution of more than 95,000 tacos at Taco Bell restaurants across the country for the occasion.
