The cameras will provide 360-degree vision and expand monitoring of these intersections in the neighborhood. Their installation responds to requests from residents submitted to the City Council and is part of the expansion of Zaragoza’s video surveillance system, which aims to increase coverage at various points across the city.
The new equipment will join the cameras already operating at Delicias Vertical Garden. According to municipal data, recordings from this location have helped solve six criminal cases. In addition to supporting investigations, the City Council believes that the presence of these devices may have a deterrent effect on certain criminal behaviors.
The contract for the two new cameras will be launched shortly, and the expectation is that they will be operational by the end of the year, although their activation depends on the authorization of the Video Surveillance Commission arriving on time. The recordings are not viewed in real time and may only be provided to the police or judicial authorities when requested for the relevant proceedings. In this way, Delicias will add two new surveillance points in response to residents’ demands.
