Cabezudos to Take Over These Zaragoza Streets This Sunday as San Miguel Festivities Return

After several years on hold due to the pandemic, Zaragoza is bringing back the San Miguel festivities this year. This beloved area, located between a neighborhood and the city center, has scheduled a series of events to restore excitement to the streets and offer the best lead-up to the 2026 Pilar festivities.

One of the central events of the festivities will be the appearance of the La Granja Cabezudos troupe, which will parade through the Plaza San Miguel and Los Sitios area on two dates. The first will take place this Sunday, September 27, at 6:00 p.m., while the second procession will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m. Both will depart from the La Caridad Foundation on Moret Street.

The San Miguel festivities will also include a guided tour of the Church of San Miguel on September 29, the patron saint's day. The activity will offer an opportunity to discover the history and heritage of this emblematic temple and explore one of the corners with the deepest traditions in this area of the Aragonese capital.

With the return of these festivities, San Miguel once again becomes one of the first settings to herald the arrival of the Pilar festivities.
