An Ofrenda Beyond El Pilar: Zaragoza Plans a Surprise for 600 Tourism Professionals

Zaragoza will recreate the Flower Offering to the Virgin of El Pilar this Wednesday for nearly 600 Turespaña delegates attending the organisation’s 6th Convention, held this week in the Aragonese capital. The performance will take place at 8 p.m. in Plaza del Justicia, giving attendees a firsthand look at one of the city’s most distinctive traditions, with flowers and jotas taking centre stage.

After the recreation, a jota procession will lead participants through the streets of the Casco Histórico to the Mercado Central, where a gala dinner featuring Aragonese products and wines will be held. The meal will be accompanied by Dupla DJ and will also showcase one of Zaragoza’s most emblematic buildings. The market’s traders have welcomed the opportunity to present the venue to the tourism professionals gathered in the city.

The initiative is part of a programme organised to introduce Zaragoza to Turespaña delegates, including visits to sites such as the Aljafería, the cathedrals and the Goya Museum, as well as gastronomic experiences. The City Council aims to use the event to strengthen the Aragonese capital’s international profile and highlight its attractions beyond the busiest tourist periods. This Thursday, the city will also present “Zaragoza On Fire. The City Where Everything Happens”, a new promotional initiative aimed at tourism industry professionals.
