More than 30,000 people had already bought Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre’s album. The success also coincided with the start of a new tour, which opened that very night in Zaragoza and would later take the duo across Spain, Europe and Latin America.
Amaral had chosen the Aragonese capital to begin performing “Hacia lo salvaje” live. The audience’s response forced the band to considerably expand its initial plans: what was originally intended to be a single show eventually became five concerts at the Palacio de Congresos, all of them sold out days in advance.
At the tour presentation, held that same week, the band announced that audiences could expect a “high-energy show” and promised surprises on stage. Performing at home also represented a special responsibility for Amaral, who acknowledged the “respect” they felt about returning to their homeland and the high standards they applied to their performances in Zaragoza.
A gold record in just one week and five sold-out dates in Zaragoza thus accompanied the launch of “Hacia lo salvaje”. This is how we reported it in Aragón Digital 15 years ago, in the original article about the success of Amaral’s new album and the start of its tour.
