The Congress, held this year under the theme "Culture as a Catalyst for Senior Citizens' Concerns" and under the Honorary Presidency of His Majesty the King, is expected to bring together around 200 people, including organizations, experts, educators and senior university students from across Spain. As it will be held in a hybrid format, participants will be able to attend in person or follow the open online broadcast.
The Congress will take place both in person and online, with the aim of addressing the integration of older adults into the digital society, sharing experiences and best practices, and creating spaces for dialogue and collective learning, as well as helping to combat isolation and loneliness.
Over three days, the program will combine talks, debate panels and presentations aimed at highlighting active aging, culture and lifelong learning as drivers of inclusion, social participation and cognitive maintenance. It will address key issues such as culture and leisure; experiences that strengthen intergenerational relationships; health and well-being, caregiving and healthy aging; social participation, volunteering, senior associations and new projects for older adults; and technology and autonomy, digital literacy and tools for independent living.
The goal is to develop a Congress where older adults are not merely recipients but protagonists. It will be three days to share experiences, learn and build a society that is more welcoming to people of all ages.
OPEN ONLINE BROADCAST
The Congress will be broadcast online, and the connection link will be provided in advance as part of the IMSERSO CAUMAS – Senior Digital program, funded by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and the 2030 Agenda.
In this way, those interested will be able to follow the Congress sessions live from the facilities of the San Valero Group Building, home to the Senior Campus of San Jorge University, or from anywhere else in the country, guaranteeing access to knowledge and removing geographical and mobility barriers.
