Work on the Faculty of Medicine will cost around €37 million. The rector explained that the tendering process will move forward thanks to the joint efforts of the Government of Aragon and the University of Zaragoza to find “a tool that lies between two funding models.” Had this solution not been reached, she warned, it would have been necessary to wait for the new model, which would begin next year, and therefore “delay the start of the work even further.”
Bolea also announced other projects involving university infrastructure. Among them, she cited the future business incubator at the Río Ebro campus, conceived as a space where students with innovative projects can develop their initiatives, as well as plans for a new building at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
These projects are joined by the renovation of the sports facilities, for which the University of Zaragoza plans to allocate nearly €7 million in order to promote the health of the entire university community.
