The video, provided by Carlos Atrián to Aragón Digital, shows one of the traditional bull runs through the streets of the capital of Cinco Villas. The bulls move along the route, participants run and seek refuge behind the barriers, and in the middle of a scene marked by nerves and racing feet, two people appear to be living in an entirely different reality.
They are two members of Los Pastores, who have decided to watch the bull run as if they were spending an August day at the beach. Outside the barrier, shirtless and seated on two chairs beneath a parasol, they wear sunglasses and hats while calmly waiting for the animals to pass. One of them even reads the newspaper.
Not even the arrival of the bulls seems to disrupt their plans very much. The animals pass by while the two remain practically indifferent, keeping the scene going until the end. Only once the danger has passed does the tableau break: they look at each other, exchange a knowing smile and eventually burst out laughing.
The scene has become one of the most curious images from the Ejea festivities. The video posted on Aragón Digital’s social media accounts has already accumulated 255,000 views on TikTok and 14,900 on Instagram, as well as hundreds of reactions from users surprised by the calm of its protagonists.
“THAT’S AURA FARMING”: REACTIONS TO THE VIDEO
The unusual way the two members of Los Pastores experienced the bull run quickly prompted comments on social media. Among the reactions, one expression particularly sums up the scene: “That’s aura farming”.
Other users turned to humor in an attempt to explain the protagonists’ strategy. “If you don’t move, they can’t see you, the legend says,” one commenter joked. Another brought back one of the recurring lines used in response to this type of video: “There’s the proof of why men live shorter lives than women.”
A scene lasting just a few seconds that, with beach chairs, a parasol and a level of calm difficult to explain in the middle of a bull run, has ended up becoming one of the viral images from the festivities in Ejea de los Caballeros.
