The 2026-2027 program comprises 130 hours of training through six in-person subjects, with 20 teaching hours each, and a series of eleven online lectures. The program combines history, heritage, health, science, language and art to offer students a broad and accessible perspective on issues related to everyday life and current affairs.
Classes will begin on October 6, 2026, and continue until May 2027. In-person activities will take place in the assembly hall of the Vice-Rectorate of the Teruel Campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a schedule designed to promote learning, participation and the exchange of experiences within the university.
SIX SUBJECTS COVERING HEALTH, SCIENCE, HISTORY AND ART
The planned subjects include History of Teruel's Roads, which will review the development of the province's paths and roads. Psychological Well-Being and Health will also be offered, with psychoeducational strategies to understand and care for health in old age, as will Art and Architecture in the City of Teruel, which will include two practical field sessions.
The program also includes Energy, Science and the Universe: Human Beings Facing the Challenges of the 21st Century, focusing on the main scientific and technological advances and challenges. It is joined by Understanding, Deciding and Participating, a subject aimed at helping students understand the specialized language used in everyday areas such as healthcare, law and administration.
The sixth subject, Spanish Art from Antiquity to the 15th Century, will explore the main artistic expressions developed in Spain and, particularly, in Aragon through the end of the Middle Ages. The training will be completed with eleven online lectures on the Humanities and Arts, Healthcare or Law, available throughout the academic year after premiering on Fridays at 12:00 p.m.
ENROLLMENT DATES, COST AND REQUIREMENTS
Enrollment will remain open throughout September, with different periods depending on the type of student. Returning students will be able to enroll from September 1 to 8; new students, from September 9 to 14; and those who meet the re-enrollment requirements will have September 15 and 16 to complete the registration process for the new academic year.
The process will be completed online for returning students and those rejoining through re-enrollment. First-time applicants will also be able to enroll in person at the Vice-Rectorate of the Teruel Campus. The 90 available places in the single group will be assigned on a strict first-come, first-served basis, and enrollment will cost 254 euros.
To join the program for the first time, applicants must have turned 60 before January 1, 2027, or be retired and at least 55 years old. The fee includes mandatory student insurance, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for June 2027, following an academic year that will once again turn the Teruel campus into a space for lifelong learning, culture and university community.
