Pilar Festival celebrations reach Zaragoza's Materno Infantil Hospital with giant-head figures, footballers and military personnel

F-18 and firefighters' helmets, conversations with footballers, visits from UME military personnel and laughter led by the Clowntagiosos brought joy to the corridors of Zaragoza's Miguel Servet Materno Infantil Hospital this Friday. Children staying in the hospital traded their routine for a day filled with surprises, gifts and encounters with some of their idols, in a celebration serving as a prelude to the 2026 Pilar Festival.

The hospital held its traditional annual celebration, one of the most eagerly awaited events for its young patients and their families. The giant-head figures also did not want to miss the occasion, which was attended by athletes, pilots, military personnel and representatives of the security and law enforcement forces. They all visited the hospital with the same purpose: to bring a smile to the children spending these days as inpatients.

Participants included representatives of Real Zaragoza, Casademont Zaragoza, the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and various security forces, who shared moments with the patients. The youngest children were able to try on the professionals' helmets, learn about their work up close and enjoy the surprises prepared for the occasion, accompanied throughout by the humor of the Clowntagiosos.

The celebration also brought together the associations, foundations, companies and organizations that regularly work with the hospital to improve the care and well-being of pediatric patients. They included Lacasa and the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which joined a day whose true protagonists were the children and their families, who were able to enjoy a festive atmosphere without leaving the hospital.
