Jaca strengthens emergency services with a 24-hour medical ambulance

As of Friday, Jaca has had an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance with a doctor on site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Until now, the service had no doctor at night from Monday to Thursday, a situation corrected after the 061 Aragon staff was consolidated.

This is the first time in Jaca's history that this ambulance has had a doctor permanently on site, as previously the physician was on call during certain shifts. The vehicle is based at Jaca Hospital and is staffed by a driver, a doctor and a nursing professional.

The managing director of 061 Aragon, Marta Sampériz, highlighted the boost this measure provides for emergency healthcare in the area. The service will now be able to offer a medical response at any time of day, including the night-time periods that previously had no doctor on site.

Jaca's healthcare resources are completed by a Basic Life Support ambulance operating 24 hours a day, Jaca Hospital and the health centre, which also provides emergency care throughout the day.
