The situation was brought to light by CHA councillor in Bujaraloz Chusé Rozas, who said that keeping the school without these services for weeks was harming students, teachers and the management team. “The school needs to be able to communicate with families, manage the documentation for the start of the school year and use digital platforms and resources normally,” he said.
In response to the situation, CHA deputy spokesperson and the party's spokesperson on the Education, Science and Universities Committee of the Aragonese Parliament, Isabel Lasobras, has registered several questions addressed to the Government of Aragon. The party wants to know the specific causes of the interruption, what steps the Department of Education has taken with the provider company or other competent bodies, and when the service is expected to be restored.
“Connectivity is now basic infrastructure for any educational centre, and even more so in rural areas,” Lasobras said. She called on the regional executive to explain what happened and set a date for the restoration of telephone and internet services.
CHA is calling on the Government of Aragon to speed up the necessary measures to restore both services and adopt steps to prevent a similar incident from lasting for weeks. Ariste also linked the situation to equal opportunities between schools in rural areas and those elsewhere in Aragon.
