Hail, very strong wind gusts and heavy rain: Aemet issues alert for this area

Although the heat seems reluctant to leave, autumn arrived in Aragon this week in the form of rainfall. Aemet has already warned of unsettled weather, which is expected to continue at least until well into next week, according to the State Meteorological Agency's forecast. Wednesday will bring a brief respite, but from Thursday onward, the rain will intensify ahead of the weekend.

Rain and storms will be particularly intense in Albarracín and Jiloca, where Aemet has issued a yellow alert for Thursday due to accumulated rainfall of 20 mm in one hour, possible hail and strong wind gusts. For now, no alert is active in the rest of Aragon, although this does not mean that no rain will be recorded.

Although rainfall will be scarce in Zaragoza city this Thursday, heavier showers could occur in Huesca and Teruel. The rain will also bring a slight drop in temperatures in the Aragonese capital on Friday, with highs of 26 degrees, the lowest maximum temperature recorded this week. In Huesca and Teruel, autumn will already make itself felt from that day, with highs of 22 and 23 degrees, respectively.

The weekend will continue without many changes, with temperatures typical for this time of year, perhaps slightly higher in Zaragoza, and showers that could be intense. Aemet's forecast is for the rain to continue at least until Tuesday.
