The main advantage for families is that they will be able to choose their dentist, whether it is a professional from the Aragonese Health Service or an authorized private dentist. That choice will remain valid throughout the year.

WHAT TREATMENTS ARE INCLUDED

The program covers basic dental care and certain specialized treatments. These include problems resulting from trauma or malformations affecting permanent teeth, as well as prosthetic treatments for cavities in children with serious systemic diseases, including cancer patients.

Coverage is also extended until the age of 16 for children with certain disabilities or serious illnesses that affect their oral health. In more complex cases, patients may be referred to the Dental Unit at San Juan de Dios Hospital in Zaragoza.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM

Not all treatments are included. Orthodontics, exclusively cosmetic procedures and, as a general rule, treatments involving baby teeth are excluded. However, diagnostic checkups, emergencies and extractions are covered in these cases.
