The fair will spotlight the wealth of the area’s municipalities, the work of its companies and entrepreneurs, and the quality of its local products. Two of the leading agri-food products associated with Calanda and Lower Aragón will be among the main attractions: Calanda Peaches and Lower Aragón Extra Virgin Olive Oil, both protected by their respective designations of origin.
LOCAL PRODUCTS AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY
The event will also feature established companies and new business projects presenting their products and services. Industry, retail, services, technological innovation and entrepreneurship will share space at a fair designed to foster collaboration between sectors and raise the profile of the region’s economic fabric. The program will also address issues such as housing, employment, population retention and the opportunities to develop a professional and personal project in rural areas.
LOWER ARAGÓN’S HISTORY AND FUTURE
Calanda’s past will also play a prominent role during the two-day event. Planned activities include a historical re-enactment of the granting of the San Miguel Fair, recalling the origins of the event and its importance to the town. The program will include references to episodes linked to local and Aragonese history, such as the Miracle of Calanda and the Mazaleón Protocol.
The San Miguel Fair will round out its program with content related to gastronomy, culture, tradition and tourism, creating an event aimed both at residents and visitors to the town that weekend. Calanda is thus seeking to present its products, companies, heritage and talent in one setting, while also highlighting Lower Aragón’s opportunities for the future.
