Starting Tuesday, the Aragón Play app is available on connected TVs. It can be used on Samsung and LG Smart TVs, as well as Android TV and Google TV devices.
Aragón Play arrives on Smart TVs

Aragón Play now allows audiences to enjoy Aragón TV and Aragón Radio live from their living rooms, along with on-demand programs, news, sports broadcasts, podcasts, documentaries, films and exclusive content, as well as Aragón Noticias and Aragón Deporte. Access to the platform and registration are free.

It has been available since last June on mobile phones, tablets and computers. Its arrival on Smart TVs is part of the second development phase planned when the platform was launched.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD ARAGÓN PLAY ON A SMART TV

The process is similar to that for any other television application:

- Samsung Smart TV: access the Samsung app store from the TV, use the search bar, type “Aragón Play” and select Install. - LG Smart TV: open LG Content Store / Apps, search for “Aragón Play” and press Install. The app is already listed in LG’s app catalog. - Android TV / Google TV: open Google Play Store from the TV, search for “Aragón Play” and select Install.

Once installed, simply open the app. Users who already have an Aragón Play account can sign in with their usual credentials or use a QR code with their mobile phone, while those who are not yet registered can create an account free of charge to access the available content.

140,000 REGISTERED USERS IN THE FIRST THREE MONTHS

Aragón Play began operating on June 24 as part of CARTV’s digital transformation process. The platform was created to bring together content from Aragón TV, Aragón Radio, Aragón Noticias and Aragón Deporte in a single environment, both live and on demand, and to make it easier to access from different devices. In just over three months, more than 140,000 people have registered on the new platform, more than 65,000 mobile apps have been actively installed, and its content has generated more than 1.3 million views and over 600,000 hours of usage, consolidating its role as a hub for access to Aragón’s news, sports and culture.

During its first few months, Aragón Play’s catalog has grown to include more than 250 audio and video productions. The service has expanded with original programming and specific broadcasts, particularly sports coverage, as well as news, cultural and entertainment content. Its arrival on connected TVs is now one of the project’s main milestones, bringing all that content to the screen traditionally used to watch television.

Usage figures also reflect the platform’s ability to take content from Aragón beyond the region, with views from 172 countries around the world. Forty-six percent of users live outside Aragón.

COVERAGE OF THE FIESTAS DEL PILAR AND NEXT STEPS

The Smart TV rollout coincides with the start of October, allowing viewers anywhere in the world to follow the special programming for Zaragoza’s Fiestas del Pilar live and on demand. It will also offer exclusive content.

During the final quarter of the year, Aragón Play will continue expanding its content catalog, and by the end of the year it will extend compatibility to new televisions and devices, confirming its arrival on Hisense TVs, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Apple TV.
