Aragón leaves 22 teaching positions unfilled after latest extraordinary call

Due to a shortage of teachers in some specialties and subjects, the Department of Education has once again resorted to extraordinary calls to fill positions that remain vacant two weeks after the start of the school year. On Thursday, September 17, the EducaAragón website published 110 vacancies for Secondary Education and Vocational Training.

Although the possibility of applying for positions without a teaching master's degree used to be reserved for later stages of the school year, the Education Department has decided to resort to this formula earlier. Of the 110 vacancies offered, 58 could be applied for without this requirement, while the remaining 52 did require the qualification.

The call resulted in 86 positions being awarded and two others being canceled during the process, leaving 22 posts ultimately unfilled. The outstanding vacancies affect ten specialties and schools in all three provinces. Art concentrates the largest number, with five positions, followed by Latin, with four, and Information Technology, with three.

Opening applications to candidates without a master's degree has also failed to fill the entire offer. Of the 22 positions left unassigned, ten belonged precisely to the list for which this qualification was not required, despite the measure expanding the number of applicants eligible to apply.
