In her speech, Eva Valle highlighted that "through the MIMA Programme, we have laid the foundations for a strategy that over the next four years will mark a turning point in our policy of support for the sector, and Aragón a Mano is the tool that allows us to promote it."
The 10 new interior design ambassadors continue the path begun in 2025 with fashion and will forge partnerships with high-value-added sectors "that place Aragonese artisan talent where it belongs, both within and beyond Aragón," the minister stressed.
The minister also highlighted the importance of the Aragón a Mano programme, which is helping artisan business owners grow because "when we help an artisan workshop sell more, access new markets or take part in a national or international project, we are also contributing to maintaining economic activity and talent in the region. We do this through projects such as the digital platform to improve the sector's visibility, the professional catalogue of artisan products and by facilitating participation in international showcases such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week."
NEW AMBASSADORS
Eva Valle, together with the director general for SMEs, the Self-Employed, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Carmen Herrarte, appointed the 10 new interior design ambassadors and presented them with their diplomas: Mercedes Artal (alabaster), Marco Calhau (collectible furniture), Raúl del Chano (basketry), Marta Danés (ceramics), Nacho Díaz (forging), Gregorio Gil (stone quarrying and sculpture), Fernando Malo (ceramics), Andrés Millán (alabaster plaster), Altay Rumeu (wooden furniture and sculpture) and Zaro (cabinetmaking and furniture).
Among them, Raúl del Chano, a basket maker from Los Villanuevas (Teruel), is enjoying a moment of national recognition: this season, he designed the window displays for Joyería Suárez in Madrid. “Being recognised as an ambassador for Aragón's high-end craftsmanship, when you have spent half your life working alone in your workshop, is a way of telling the sector that this can also be done from a village of 29 residents,” he said after receiving his diploma. Fernando Piró, an Aragonese jeweller and goldsmith and a fashion ambassador since December, also shared his experience as part of the brand's first generation of ambassadors.
The Aragón a Mano brand is working on its participation in new trade fairs and industry events over the coming months, and is exploring a collaboration with Forbes focused on interior design, with a presence at activities aimed at different audiences within the sector. The minister closed the event with a group photo of the 20 ambassadors —from fashion and interior design— alongside the Restaurante Carcas team.
