The calendar will offer several opportunities to combine public holidays and weekends over the coming months. From the Fiestas del Pilar and All Saints' Day to the Constitution Day long weekend, San Valero, Cincomarzada and Aragon Day, Zaragoza students will have various breaks ahead of them before the school year ends in June 2027. They will also be joined by the two main holiday periods: Christmas and Easter.
THE LONG WEEKENDS IN ZARAGOZA DURING THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
The first major break will arrive practically at the start of the school year with the 2026 Fiestas del Pilar. Students will have no classes on Monday, October 12, Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14. Combined with Saturday 10 and Sunday 11, these dates will allow them to enjoy five consecutive days off. Classes will resume on Thursday, October 15.
There will not be long to wait for the next break. Monday, November 2 will be a public holiday in place of All Saints' Day, which falls on a Sunday. This will allow students to combine Saturday, October 31, Sunday, November 1 and Monday, November 2 and enjoy three consecutive days without classes.
Another of the longest breaks in the calendar will arrive in December. Students will have no classes on Monday, December 7 or Tuesday, December 8, so, together with the weekend, they will have four consecutive days off, from Saturday, December 5 to Tuesday, December 8, for the Constitution Day and Immaculate Conception long weekend.
Just a few weeks later, one of the school year's most eagerly awaited periods will begin: the Christmas holidays. The break will run from December 22, 2026, through January 6, 2027, inclusive, before students return to the classrooms after the Christmas celebrations.
In 2027, the calendar will once again provide several long weekends in Zaragoza. San Valero will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, allowing schoolchildren in the Aragonese capital to combine it with Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 and enjoy three days off.
Something similar will happen a few weeks later with Cincomarzada. March 5 will fall on a Friday and will be a non-school day in Zaragoza, creating another three-day break from Friday, March 5, to Sunday, March 7.
The arrival of spring will bring the longest break of the second part of the school year. The Easter holidays will begin on Thursday, March 25, and continue until the beginning of April, providing more than a week without classes.
April will still have another long weekend in store. St George's Day and Aragon Day, April 23, will fall on a Friday, allowing students to enjoy three consecutive days without classes through Sunday, April 25.
The last of the main long weekends will arrive at the beginning of May. Although May 1 will fall on a Saturday, Monday, May 3 will be a non-school day in Zaragoza, allowing students to once again enjoy three consecutive days off before entering the final stretch of the school year.
