Vadillo misses out as Real Zaragoza near full strength

Real Zaragoza returned to training on Wednesday with almost the entire squad available. Only Iker Vadillo, who has an unspecified muscular injury, trained separately ahead of Sunday's game against Atlético Madrid's reserve side.

The young Real Zaragoza attacker is virtually ruled out of the aforementioned game. His “muscular injury” was announced at the start of the week and, as expected, he was still not working with the group on Wednesday. His return to the squad this Sunday would therefore be very difficult.

Sem Westerveld did train alongside the rest of his teammates. The goalkeeper missed the game against Club Deportivo Teruel because of discomfort, but it has not worsened. Real Zaragoza coach Ibai Gómez ventured to suggest that there was no injury. Westerveld has been present since Monday's recovery session.

There are no further updates at Real Zaragoza. If that remains the case, Ibai can once again choose both his starting lineup and substitutes.

THE MATCH IN MADRID

Real Zaragoza have a new game scheduled for this Sunday at 9 p.m. Atlético Madrileño, Atlético Madrid's reserve side, await them in an unusual match for the club. But it is here, at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Centre, that the Aragonese side can win again.

Real Zaragoza are therefore entering a peculiar period of exile. They will play three consecutive away games: this one and two more. Murcia and Europa follow the red-and-white side. Although the route could become more difficult, the side needs to win again.
