After spending one season in Segunda Federación following the restructuring of Spanish football's divisions, Brull Acerete was promoted to Primera Federación, where he has officiated a total of 54 matches, two of them this season. The Catalan referee officiated Ibiza's 2-1 win over Rayo Majadahonda on the second matchday and Águilas' 1-0 victory over Hércules on the fifth league matchday, both in Group 2, where Real Zaragoza also compete.

Among his Primera RFEF statistics, his disciplinary record stands out. The Catalan averages 5.85 yellow cards and 0.32 red cards per match, making him the 15th referee with the most cards in the brief history of the current national third tier. In addition, Brull Acerete, who will referee Real Zaragoza for the first time, has officiated Real Murcia matches on six occasions. The club have yet to win with the Catalan referee in charge, recording two draws and four defeats.

Brull Acerete will be accompanied in Murcia this Sunday by Jesús Molina and Marc Bondía as assistant referees, with Abraham Belloso serving as the fourth official. It will be a crucial match for Real Zaragoza against Real Murcia, who are the Blanquillos' immediate challengers for top spot.
