For now, then, the distribution of shares has not changed anything. The same people who have been involved over the past four years, the worst in Real Zaragoza's history, are still the ones who hold the majority. But everything must change no later than September 30, when the fund fulfills its commitment to make the payment.
A.Gain requested a two-week extension to complete the final payment a few days ago, meaning that just one week would remain. Among other assets, the group would take control of the shares linked to Atlético de Madrid, whose shadow has followed Real Zaragoza to its worst consequences. During this period, the purchase should be completed and the eight-million capital increase carried out.
THE OWNERSHIP SPLIT
Juan Forcén and Jorge Mas, who is still president, would remain in the SAD, while the rest would leave Real Zaragoza's shareholding structure. However, it should be remembered that A.Gain has investments in Atlético de Madrid, meaning that this shadow continues to loom over the struggling Blanquillo side.
Following the aforementioned capital increase, A.Gain would acquire 60% of the shares, while Forcén and Jorge Mas would retain 39%. They would have contributed 14 million to it, and the General Shareholders' Meeting would be held in December.
