Real Zaragoza fans sail to Ibiza: “We’re off on an adventure, but it’ll surely be worth it”

Real Zaragoza supporters continue to prove they are virtually unmatched, with a seven-member group from different fan clubs sailing to Ibiza for Friday’s match against U.D. Ibiza (9:15 p.m.) to support the Blanquillos at Can Misses.

The Manuel Torres fan club came up with the idea for the trip, although members of other fan clubs have joined the initiative, including Víctor Nuez, a member of Nobleza y Valor. He will be one of those making the adventure by sailboat to Ibiza to support his Real Zaragoza.

"The truth is that we’re off on an adventure, but it’ll surely be worth it to see Real Zaragoza. I’ve already been on several trips, but this is the first one by sea, so I’ve now travelled by land, sea and air," Víctor says of the journey.

It is not exactly a cheap adventure, as the cost is around 400 euros for transportation alone, with personal expenses not included. But Real Zaragoza support and passion are not governed by money, and fans will do whatever it takes to back their team. It is another demonstration of what this fan base is like, even in Primera RFEF, although something similar already happened in 2022, when this type of trip was made for the first time.

A TRIP FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND

The group set off for Denia on Thursday, from where they will take the sailboat they have rented in Alicante and cross the sea to reach Ibiza on Friday morning. "We’ve paid close attention to the weather forecast for the sea crossing, and it is expected to be calm because it’s ultimately a long journey—around eight hours," Víctor adds. They will also not stay in a hotel, as they will sleep on the sailboat during their time on the island.

Real Zaragoza’s match will be played on Friday night, but the trip also includes the weekend. On Saturday, they will spend time at the beach and may take the opportunity to visit Formentera before preparing everything to leave the following day.

They will return on Sunday morning and arrive in Denia around midday before heading back to Zaragoza in the afternoon. It is a trip worthy of a big team, which Real Zaragoza is, and even in such a critical situation, its supporters always come through. They will even travel by sea—nothing can stop the Zaragoza faithful.
