The Castellón-born YouTuber was present at the match at Can Misses against U.D. Ibiza and spoke with several fans who had traveled to the island to support the club. Among them were the seven supporters who sailed from Gandía, saying they were the best reflection of the madness this fan base represents in Spanish football.
Another of the video’s protagonists is Hugo, the young fan who attended every away match for the team last season. "For me, Real Zaragoza is my life and the driving force behind my day-to-day life, so I will never let them down," he said during his appearance.
RUBÉN DÍEZ’S WORDS
But one of the fans who attended the match at Can Misses delivered one of the phrases that best defines Real Zaragoza’s current situation: "During a call with my mother, she asked me when I was going to stop following the team because she could tell I was very angry. I stayed silent for a few seconds and replied that if her son were in the ICU, would she abandon him or stay by his side? That is how I feel about Zaragoza."
The player speaking in the video is one of the team’s captains, Rubén Díez. The attacking midfielder acknowledges how difficult it is for a club of Real Zaragoza’s stature to be outside professional football and says he cannot find the words to thank the people who are always there, despite all the hardships they have endured.
"I had no doubts about coming, regardless of the division, and Ibai (Gómez) keeps telling us that we have to go all out for every ball," said one of the captains, conveying the squad’s motivation to return the club to the Segunda División.
The bond between the fans and this squad has been evident at the start of the season, with scenes of unity that had not been seen for a long time. The fans’ support is beyond question, and while it has always stood out, in this situation it has become an invaluable asset because its worth cannot be measured.
