Kiko Ramírez is not afraid of Real Zaragoza: "No one will hide and we will go out to win, not settle for a point"

C.D. Teruel face one of those matches everyone is motivated to play: an Aragonese derby against Real Zaragoza, whom they have not faced in an official match for 41 years. The game will take place at Ibercaja Estadio this Sunday at 9 p.m., with the fans and atmosphere providing extra motivation. Teruel coach Kiko Ramírez wants to use that incentive to inspire his players against the white-and-blue side.
Kiko Ramírez is not afraid of Real Zaragoza: "No one will hide and we will go out to win, not settle for a point"

"No one will hide in this match. It is a great showcase for everyone. As a coach, I cannot allow a player to go beyond what this is: a match in a competition like Primera RFEF. For me, this is the way forward; from there, we will always be close to being able to win or earn points. We cannot relax because this division is ruthless and any team can beat you", he said.

Ibai Gómez acknowledged in the build-up that Real Zaragoza are the favorites, and Ramírez added that "because of their more recent history, they are the best team in Primera RFEF; that is the reality, but they still have to prove it on the field. I accept that they are better, but the match has to be played". He concluded by stressing that "all the teams in this division are highly competitive. I always teach my team to show the utmost respect for our opponents, whatever situation they may be in".

THEIR SITUATION IN PRIMERA RFEF

Teruel rescued a point 'in extremis' against Huesca and have collected just two points after five rounds, leaving them in the relegation zone. "We have not won yet, and we must do so against Zaragoza or whoever it may be. It is a difficult setting, but it is the best possible setting. If you know how to approach the match, play it and secure the three points, what better place for the first win to come than Zaragoza? That is my thinking", Kiko Ramírez said.

Although he is aware that Real Zaragoza are in excellent form after winning four consecutive matches, the Teruel coach does not want "excuses" and said his team will come out "not only to earn points but to win, because if you go out to win, you can possibly earn points".

The Tarragona-born coach will have his entire squad available and will even welcome back Sergio Moreno, despite the midfielder missing part of training because of muscle discomfort. "Everyone wants to be involved in this match because it is a historic game for Teruel and an important one for the dressing room", he concluded.
