"¡Go for them!", "¡winners!", "¡come on, come on!" and "¡four, four wins!" were some of the chants heard in the Real Zaragoza dressing room moments before the match. Ibai then took the floor and recalled one of his main principles within the team he is putting together: there are no starters and substitutes, but one team seeking to give everything at every moment.
"Honestly, in football today, nothing individual wins matches. Teams win matches, and teams are made up of many players; the season is very long," the coach began, before delivering one of his strongest messages: "And there is one thing I want to say to those of us starting today: giving everything on every play is respect for those who do not start. There are 13 or 14 players who do not start, and every day they are working like animals. That is the team: each of us giving everything whenever our time comes, because it will come for different players as the season goes on."
"We cannot have any regrets about everything that depends on this. We have a clear objective; it is a long war, with each battle. Within today’s match, there will be mini-matches. They will go all out in the first 10 to 15 minutes, so we have to be smart until the game settles down. We have worked on everything, we have to trust ourselves and go for it. We are going to compete and enjoy it. We’re ready!" the Basque coach concluded before Ander Herrera, who was in the dressing room in civilian clothes despite being unavailable, took center stage to lead the final chant.
THE CONNECTION WITH THE STANDS
After the match, which ended in another Real Zaragoza victory thanks to a brace from Óscar Ureña, the images showed hugs, euphoric shouts and plenty of smiles from the Aragonese side. Saidu even showed Ibai the iconic gesture of putting three fingers in his pocket, a celebratory move the Zaragoza club is becoming accustomed to making.
Against this backdrop, the visiting section began chanting "¡Olé, maños, oe!", and the players joined in by walking over to the away section to thank the supporters for their backing. The video thus captures a Real Zaragoza side that, in addition to securing its fourth consecutive win, once again displayed the connection between the dressing room and the fans on a special night in Ibiza.
