Escudero, last-minute absentee for Real Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza have suffered another last-minute setback, with Sergio Escudero ruled out. The left-back has discomfort in his Achilles tendon and, as a precaution at this stage of the season, will not be risked. He will therefore not travel to Can Dragó, where the Aragonese side are due to face C.E. Europa.

That was announced at a press conference by Real Zaragoza head coach Ibai Gómez. “We have three absentees: Vadillo, Peter Ademo and Escudero. He has some discomfort in his Achilles tendon and will not be at 100%. He will not train this Friday and, therefore, we will have three absentees,” the coach summarized.

The good news is that, barring complications, Ibai ventured that he will only miss Real Zaragoza’s next match. In other words, just this Friday’s game against Europa.

A FULL HOUSE AT HOME?

Real Zaragoza’s coach also stated that, if he meets the expected recovery timeline, Vadillo will return to the squad next week for the match against Villarreal B. If Escudero recovers and there are no new absences, the entire squad could be available. For now, however, that remains wishful thinking.

Vadillo suffered an injury nearly three weeks ago because of a muscle problem about which practically no information was provided, but he has already been seen in the gym. Ademo, meanwhile, was sent off in the match against Real Murcia. So, if nothing goes wrong, all three absentees should be available next week.
