Diego González on Real Zaragoza: "We Represent a Club That Does Not Deserve to Be in Primera RFEF"

Real Zaragoza have made an almost flawless start to the new season, with four wins in their first five matches and only one blemish: the defeat in Tarragona. Defensive leader and fan favorite Diego González spoke about the Blanquillo club and its goals on the RFEF’s YouTube channel.

"The four consecutive wins we have achieved are very valuable, but what matters most is the way we have earned them. We focus on what depends on us, such as the way we play and the hunger demanded by the badge, something we can never lack," the defender said.

Regarding the club's objectives, the Castellón native stressed that "to earn promotion, you have to win every game, and that is the goal we have set ourselves. We represent a club that should not be in Primera RFEF, and this is the way forward." The defender also pointed out that, thanks to the work of Lalo and Ibai, "this team's identity is built on hard work and humility."

THE REALITY OF REAL ZARAGOZA

For Diego González, Real Zaragoza is "a club from another dimension." "It is one of the clubs with the largest fan bases and the richest histories, and when you are fortunate enough to experience it from within, it is another world. I have found a club with incredible humility and humanity, and people who are eager to turn the situation around," he said.

Referring to the supporters, the defender said that "football belongs to the fans, and at Real Zaragoza no one abandons the club." For the squad, receiving such strong support at every match is very important because "it is essential to achieving our objective."
