Ricard Mitjana Resigns as Podemos Aragón Coordinator Amid Left-Wing Crisis
Podemos coordinator in Aragón, Ricard Mitjana, has resigned amid a crisis on the left over the lack of unity ahead of the next general election on November 29. The party leader and other members had already stepped down from their positions on October 7 due to disagreements with the national and regional leaderships, after announcing his intention to run in the primaries for Zaragoza mayor.

“Our honesty is absolutely incompatible with what we have experienced in recent weeks,” Mitjana said in a statement, announcing that they would “turn the page” and seek another political project in which “no one from Madrid” could make decisions for Aragón.
The now-former Podemos Aragón coordinator also called on all democratic political forces ahead of the next general election to do “nothing other than stop, at the next election, the fascism that wants to infect our society".
