Anti-fascist protesters, including students and trade union representatives, also gathered near the faculty to show their opposition to Quiles’ presence. Chants including “We’ll be waiting for you here, Vito Quiles,” “The anti-fascists are here” and “Vito, coward, you’re late” could be heard during the protest, as anticipation grew ahead of his expected arrival.

The operation came after the University of Zaragoza rejected the event being held on its premises, citing the institutional neutrality of university campuses as general elections approach. Despite this, Quiles maintained his call to gather outside the Law Faculty as part of his Tour Combativos II, under the slogan “Mafia or Homeland.”
The anti-fascist gathering had been called for 6:00 p.m., one hour before the event announced by Quiles, prompting authorities to reinforce the police presence around the university. For now, the operation remains in place as officers await his arrival and monitor access points to the faculty to prevent possible incidents.
