Podemos Aragon spokesperson María Goikoetxea said the election should be used to promote a transformative left-wing alternative. The party's main measures include intervening in the rental market to reduce prices, curb speculation and expand the public housing stock, as well as improving wages, reducing working hours and strengthening public services.
"Politics must serve to help us live better, not to allow a few people to continue profiting from our rights," Goikoetxea said. She also insisted that living with dignity should be a right, not a privilege, and linked the proposals on housing and employment to the need to guarantee better living conditions for the majority of society.
ALICIA ARTEAGA TO HEAD THE ZARAGOZA TICKET
Podemos' Zaragoza ticket will be headed by Alicia Arteaga, who was born in 2000 and is a councillor in Ricla. She has worked as an early childhood education technician at a public school and currently works at a care home for the elderly. She is also studying psychology and takes part in the Plataforma 0-3 Aragón.
Her profile brings together some of the issues the party wants to place at the center of the political debate: the situation of young people, defending care work, early childhood education and opportunities in rural areas. Through her involvement in the Plataforma 0-3 Aragón, Arteaga also advocates for public, accessible and high-quality early childhood education from the first years of life, as well as social recognition for care work.
"I don't want being young and living in a village to mean having fewer opportunities," Arteaga said. The candidate argued that the difficulties of combining employment, education and participation in community life must be taken into account in political decisions, and called for young people, care work and rural areas to be at the center of the Congress agenda.
